Position Details
This full-time faculty position is on-campus and in-person. 

The College of Education at Texas Christian University (TCU) invites applications for a faculty position in Curriculum Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor, to begin August 2022. Duties include teaching a 3/2 load, maintaining robust scholarly research, publication, and grant writing agenda, and serving at the college and university levels. Responsibilities include working in a productive, collegial environment; teaching graduate courses in curriculum studies and undergraduate courses within the college’s degree programs; advising and mentoring students; and participating in service activities. The faculty member will teach curriculum studies graduate students, pre-service teachers, educators, counselors, school administrators, as well as interested non-majors from other colleges in the university. Additional expectations include sustaining a scholarly agenda and authoring publications. We are especially interested in candidates who have expertise in theoretical frames associated with current trends in the field, can collaborate with the CoE’s Center for Public Education and Community Engagement and the School of Interdisciplinary Studies’ departments (Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies and Women and Gender Studies), work to foster strong relationships with schools and districts, have experience mentoring graduate students of color, and utilize innovative methods within qualitative research. The CoE is committed to a teacher-scholar model in which research informs teaching, and vice-versa.

Required Qualifications: 
• An earned doctorate (or expected completion prior to July 2022 for employment in August 2022) in curriculum studies, curriculum theory, educational foundations, educational studies, urban education, or a closely related field.
• Expertise in curriculum studies, curriculum theory/theorizing, educational foundations, educational studies, or a closely related field.
• A scholarly research agenda and accomplishments appropriate to the stage of academic career, and the potential for making national/international contributions to the field through research, presentations, and publications.
• Demonstrated excellence or potential for excellence in teaching at the university level appropriate to the stage of academic career.
• Professional experience with children, youth, families, and/or K-12 schools.
• Strong written and oral communication skills. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
• Experience in graduate education, specifically teaching graduate level courses, mentoring graduate students, and membership on dissertation committees. 
• Scholarship that addresses anti-bias, anti-racist, anti-oppressive theories and practices.
• Expertise in qualitative research and experience in qualitative inquiry/methodology courses.

Department Details
TCU follows a teacher-scholar model. The CoE offers BS, BSE, MAT, MEd, PhD, and EdD degrees, as well as undergraduate and graduate certifications in a variety of areas. The college serves a vital role within the community and houses two laboratory schools, the TRIO programs, Student Support Services and McNair Scholars, serve to expand this vibrant learning community. Further, the ANSERS Institute for innovation in special education, Andrews Institute for Mathematics & Science Education, and Center for Public Education & Community Engagement support faculty engaged in innovative research and community outreach. School/College Description
TCU’s College of Education provides exceptional preparation for the most inspired and inspiring educators, counselors and leaders.
