Author Biography

Cynthia Mikell

Cynthia Mikell obtained her Ed. D. in Curriculum Studies from Georgia Southern University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University, and a Masters degree in Post-Secondary Education from Troy State University. Cynthia, who was raised in a rural community, is a retired officer from the Georgia Army National Guard and has been teaching business education for the past 16 years. Currently she is a teacher of Business Education at Windsor Forest High School. She advocates for the fight against oppression of women of color by society in general and their cultural communities in particular. Utilizing the collective voices of the oppressed she also seeks to shed light on and open a dialog about their shared experiences through the use of fiction.
